Another Day, Another Destiny

You know when we said the $16,000 stretch goal was the video B-roll? We were kinda kidding. We knew the footage existed. We knew it made us giggle. And we totally thought we'd *just barely* raise $15,000.

Well, you guys are making us put your money where our mouths are. Or at least where Perry's was. As of 4:40pm PST, we're at $15,893 and there are still 29 hours to go.

Now we can't wait to see what the videographer cuts together from all of the parts where we couldn't stop laughing at Gaz and Perry.  Anna's son already does an impression of Perry with his finger on his nose from the current video. Since we're clearly going over the $16K Stretch Goal, we'll get that footage cooking. When the videographer gets it to us, we'll post it as an Update here, so you all won't miss it.

Thank you for continuing to back our Project! Every dollar is earmarked to pay for amazing rewards, new signs, new flooring, and new fixtures. You can't give too much.

We already spider-sense the whining, complaining and moaning of Steve & Perry when we tell them you hit $18,000 Stretch Goal and they have to record all those noises on Internet. On a monthly podcastastic basis, no less!

Flooring prep starts tomorrow. On Tuesday, Anna meets with the flooring contractor to lay out the very cool designs that we're going to "draw" with floor tiles.

How does it work from here? On Tuesday your credit cards will be charged for the amount you pledged to our Kickstarter project.  A few days after that you'll receive an email asking you to confirm your reward level and requested items. We'll let you add-on other rewards we offered here, for an additional pledge. Just in case you wanted something, like the Steve & Perry Show t-shirt or our dice, that you have a little extra cash for now. It's not obligatory, and the survey will explain all your options.

Think About The Future

We reached the goal with more than 56 hours to go in the campaign. That means we get to get creative....

Let's talk about Stretch Goals. Let's talk about them hard.

We semi-jokingly said that at $16,000 we would share the B-roll from our Kickstarter video, because you all need a good laugh and editing costs time and money. But that's a one-off - our $18,000 Stretch Goal is an ongoing reward for everyone who loves Illusive. We will start a monthly Podcast of The Steve & Perry Show, with special guests. Let them entertain you in your earholes. A lot of you have responded that you really are looking forward to that, and we can make it happen.

Just Under the Rainbow

You guise!!!

It's mid-July-- Anna is in Portland for a Wizard of Oz convention, it's a Magic: The Gathering Prerelease Weekend for our game shop Isle of Gamers, AND AND AND there's  2 1/2 days left for our Kickstarter which is only $1500 shy of completing our funding goal of $15,000. That's fantastic! Keep spreading the word over the weekend, and let's make the New Illusive the amazingest.

Don't forget that if we hit the $18,000 stretch goal (by some miracle) we can chain Perry and Steve to chairs and make them record a monthly Steve & Perry Podcast, with guests, sarcasm, and enough snarky squabbling to make you snort out your daily coffee. Invest in screen protectors!

Constructivitus

One of our walls has its first coat of paint! Painting will continue through the weekend while the floor gets prepped for the new flooring. Our colorful tile patterns with special characters begin installation on Monday.

Moving At The Speed Of Light

Things are running along. Seriously. The new location changes so fast, we can barely keep up with everything to do... ordering new signs, updating addresses everywhere, making new fixtures, finding new phone and internet plans....

All of the remodeling should be done before the end of next week. It's amazing how much hard work our contractor and his people have put in. We haven't even told you all the horror stories of delays, injuries, and setbacks that have come whizzing by. Maybe we'll share them at the VIP Party.

Painting starts tomorrow and flooring starts installation on Monday!

Speaking Of Monday

We have 4 days left and and $4000 more to raise. Please Share (embed, post, link, message, chat) this Kickstarter with your friends, family, and any fellow South Bay geeks you run into while catching Pokemon. We thank you, and they'll thank you, too. It's fun to help out!

Illusive On The March!!

July, Actually

Minority partner, Mark Masterson, came up from Fullerton for the week to help with getting tons of moving and remodeling tasks done!

Like What?

New fixtures that better fit our Pops! Right now our vinyl figures are placed in stacks of two that can easily get mixed up. For the new space, we bought dozens of shelves from Ikea, and modified them so each fixture attractively accommodates single rows of Pops! To paint them (black) we called in some child labor (although Anna's son only really held a paintbrush for about 3 minutes before he walked away saying, "If you need me, I'll be in my office.")

Anna's Father-in-Law also stopped by to show us how we were doing things wrong, and then stuck around to help paint for about 4 hours.

We also acquired new comfy couch, assembled mostly according the instructions by Mark.

New Features

Did you know that every Saturday Santa Clara's Farmer's Market is on Jackson Street, right next to our new shop? Even more reasons to stop by and consume.

New Reward Level!

Thanks to John Layman, award winning writer of the series Chew, we have a short stack of his signed comics to add as a Reward Level. Chew #5, First Printings, and Chew #50 SDCC Variants are now up for grabs.

We've edited a couple of levels, with artist's permission, to make them more affordable. So check out the campaign again. You might find something new to love! Or to share with another potential backer...
