The Missing Third

A little birdie told us 31% of you have not filled out your Backerkit survey. That's right: we have birds spying on you.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO FILL IT OUT.  Yes, even you. Anna will have to hunt you down, and she's already overwhelmed with work so please don't add to the pile. As soon as we have all of the surveys filled out, we'll be able to start fulfilling all of the awesome Rewards. Don't screw it up for everyone else. Stop the lallygagging and get yours filled out today. You could wear your new shirt at the Grand Opening!!

If you have questions about your Rewards, the BackerKit survey, or anything else regarding this Kickstarter, please message us here. Don't call the shop — unless you get hold of Anna, the staff won't be able to answer your Kickstarter questions.

And Now, A Week Of Dessert

If you pledged and selected the Level where you get a sketch by Darick Robertson or Mick Gray, you are invited to a private event with them and the Illusive Staff on Saturday, Sept. 17th from 6pm-7:30pm. We will check names at the door, obvs.

The Grand Opening Celebration for all of our Backers and Customers will be on the same day, starting at 7:30pm.

The Formal Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting will be Friday, Sept. 16th at 2pm with Mayor Lisa Gillmor and the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce. There will be photos. And maybe cookies.

That week we also have Gene Yang coming in to sign New Superman, which he writes. Issue #3 releases Wednesday, Sept. 14th. He'll be signing at the New Illusive from 6-8pm.

AND, continuing the Grand Opening Week Events, which we didn't really plan but is a thing that is happening anyway, the world-famous Doubleclicks will be playing on Sunday, Sept. 18th at 2pm. This is a kid-friendly show, so find some kids, preferably ones you know, and bring them along!

The New Illusive is going strong and looking good, thanks to you. It's time you got rewarded!

Hello You Beautiful People!

Important details about the impending Kickstarter Rewards Survey below, but first...

It's been 3 weeks since our last Update and we've been busting our butts to finish the remodel and move into the new shop. We're bruised, battered, and bedraggled, but we made it!

The New Illusive in Franklin Square has been for a week now, and we're beyond amazed. You all, are, of course, awesomely awesome. We've had tons of new customers and our neighbors have been incredibly warm and welcoming.

Here's a bunch of photos of how great the shop looks now:

BackerKit KS Reward surveys are coming!

You will receive an email soon with a special link to BackerKit surveys related to your pledge level. This is the company we're using to help organize and fulfill your rewards. It's not spam or a scam. They're really helping us a lot.

Please keep an eye out for the email! It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as possible — we need this information to get your rewards to you.

You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey; just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! 

You will answer questions about your rewards preferences, shipping information, and have a chance to pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like. 

If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing.

Super Remodel

It's amazing, uncanny, spectacular, and incredible what's been accomplished in just a month.

Almost done! Just about one more work-day of flooring and painting and the main floor will be ready! We started moving some furniture in yesterday, too.

Coincidence Department, Illusive Speaking

Nice But Odd Universe Event--- Anna's husband, child, father and step-mother, and in-laws all dropped by for separate reasons at exactly the same time yesterday. They  only ever see each other altogether about once a year, so this was pretty phenomenal.

Into the Mysterious Future 

The Kickstarter survey will be ready to send out to you all in about a week. Yes, we will have "pick up in store" and "deliver at event" options to get your Rewards.

Plans for moving the store over the weekend of August 6th hold firm. We're so excited, and can hardly wait for you all to experience the New Illusive.

The Never-Ending Story

'Twas a busy day for Anna and her son as they bopped back and forth between the New Illusive and a variety of errands.  The young man patiently waited in the Podcast room (with its pretty new door and couch), while the working mom counted out tile spaces with the floorers to work out which characters could go where.

And now it's time for Anna to work on the weekly Illusive Newsletter. She's tired, please nap for her.
